Crayon Collection

Restaurants throw away over 150 millions crayons per year while underfunded schools struggled to provide students with these basic supplies. By collecting and redistributing like-new crayons to vulnerable Title 1 elementary schools and Head Start Centers nationwide, Crayon Collection has bolstered thousands of schools with millions of crayons plus first-in-class art education programming. This Pacific Palisades born charity has many layers as it teaches environmentalism, philanthropy and art education while minimizing teachers of out-of-pocket expenses on classroom supplies ($900/year is the average). Encouraging children to be an active part of all of their programs is a main tenet. By teaching children the importance of philanthropy and giving back through crayons is a tangible opportunity to fully understand the experience.
