Swabby recorded-Spring 2018 Cruise to Catalina (Presidents' Day Weekend)

Here is the plan for the 2018 Spring Cruise on the Spirit of Dana Point.  If we have more Mariners interested in the cruise than can be handled on the Spirit of Dana Point, we will either join in with the Irving Johnson or use our large vessels for the overflow.  All of the other Sea Scout units in Southern California have been urged to join us.

Friday, February 16  The Mariners will board the Spirit of Dana Point on Friday evening at 1800. Departure will be approximately 2000. The SDP will anchor off Island White early Sat. morning.

Saturday, February 17  1) Departure will be at 0600 for travel through the main channel to the public docks at the Iowa. 2) The Mariners plan to tour the Iowa. 3) At approximately 1700, the SDP and the Irving Johnson will sail to Whites Cove for anchoring overnight.

Sunday, February 18  Sunday morning the two ships will move to Little Gibraltar. The Mariners have leased the entire beach for Sea Scout use. Sea Scouts will gather on the beach in the afternoon for fun and games followed by a barbecue.

Monday, February 19SDP will depart for home early Monday morning.
