A spring women’s retreat devoted to planting intentions and singing nourishment into the heart.
You're invited to a day-long retreat of song, connection, and renewal. Join Laura Smith, Luna Ray, and the When Women Come to Pray community for a spacious, restorative day of learning and singing heart-centered songs, gentle movement, quiet reflection, and meaningful ritual. Together, we’ll tend the inner soil through listening, harmonizing, and preparing for the season of growth ahead.
In addition, retreat participants are invited to join the Voices Rising Choir, a collective which will perform at the Great Mother March Kickoff Event on March 21, 2026. The Great Mother March is a 32-day pilgrimage journeying from Asheville to Washington, D.C. This will be an opportunity to sing many of the songs we learn during the retreat and to share in this celebratory event.
Who is this retreat for?
Women longing for a nourishing, down-regulating retreat to prepare their inner world for spring
Women who feel resonance with the vision of the Great Mother March and wish to offer their voices in support and solidarity
Women who love singing in community—no prior experience required—and want to explore song as prayer, intention, and offering
A vegetarian lunch will be provided. Come comfortable and bring a journal if you wish.

She holds a degree in music from LaGrange College and brings a rich background in a cappella, choral singing, and children’s choir direction. A lifelong believer in the magic of communal singing, Laura continues to explore her own journey of “finding her voice.” In addition to her musical path, Laura spent over 20 years as a physical therapist, cultivating a deep respect for the body’s innate healing wisdom. Her personal yoga practice and spiritual journey have gradually shaped her approach toward a holistic, inside-out understanding of health.
