At the heart of CBSCI's mission are two flagship programs that bring the sister city relationship to life in the most personal and impactful way — through the experiences of young people and artists.

High School Exchange Program

Our High School Exchange Program is a true two-way bridge between Cupertino and Bhubaneswar. Students from Cupertino travel to Bhubaneswar, immersing themselves in the vibrant culture, history, and daily life of one of India's fastest-growing smart cities. In turn, students from Bhubaneswar come to Cupertino, experiencing life in the heart of Silicon Valley and engaging with one of the world's most dynamic educational and innovation ecosystems.

Now in its fifth year and beyond, this program has given students on both sides a rare opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, build lasting international friendships, and develop a genuine appreciation for a culture different from their own. Participants return home not just with memories, but with a broadened worldview and a deeper sense of global citizenship that stays with them for life and with new friendships.
