I had the joy and honor of joining VROC as one of their first staff back in August 2021. I had just finished my graduate program in Philadelphia with a Master of Education in Human Sexuality Studies and moved back home to Orange County the summer prior. I was longing for community with folks who had the same values as I did, who understood my culture (both the joys and the woes), and to whom I could be of service to. Funnily enough, a friend of mine from college saw that I was looking for work and asked if I had ever heard of VROC (I hadn't). What a serendipitous turn of events to have found exactly what I was looking for, right here at home! I am so proud of how much VROC has grown since 2021 and I am very excited to see where we can go next. From our annual walk in the Little Saigon Tet Parade, to our annual Pride event, Hot Person Summer, to our programs and events where we build care, community, and growth every chance we get, we are grateful for everyone who has found us and supported us.
