Women's Transitional Living Center   

Radiant Futures is building a safer community in Orange County. Originally founded as Women’s Transitional Living Center, we were the first domestic violence agency in Orange County and the third in the United States. For over 48 years, we’ve been a committed partner and solid presence in our community. As Radiant Futures, our work continues to evolve as we provide inclusive, comprehensives services to everyone impacted by domestic violence and human trafficking. To build a community free of harm, we also equip our neighbors with education to prevent violence and abuse. Our organization was founded in 1976 by a local chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) who found the prevalence of domestic violence in our community unacceptable. Born out of an urgent need to protect women who were being physically abused, we started as a 6-bed emergency shelter for women and children. Today, we continue to respond to the needs of our community by offering immediate and long-term support to survivors of all genders and services for people who cause harm. Because it takes a whole community to prevent violence, we also provide education to empower our neighbors to support safety and wellbeing for all. Today, we serve hundreds of survivors every year and reach thousands more through our education and prevention services. We have served over 200,000 people since our founding in 1976.
