Peace Project

Peacebuilding is something Rotarians do every day. We have always been peacebuilders going back to Paul Harris. Peace is not just the absence of armed conflict, it is the lack of poverty, lack of injustice, lack of hopelessness.  The Rotary Club of Westlake Village worked with Safe Passage, a local gang prevention program for elementary kids, and created a PEACE DAY where the kids learned about non-violence measures, how to deal with frustrations without violence and how to express yourself in appropriate ways.  They left knowing what peace means and how they can live in peace through their daily choices.
