Pumpkin Decorating and Goodie Bag Assembly for Wiseplace

We will be meeting for a socially distanced project to put together Goodie Bags and decorate pumpkins for Wiseplace, a non-profit that provides shelter to women.  Wiseplace shelters roughly 60 women who are victims of domestic violence and need transitional housing.  They provide job training, resume building, work skills, socialization and help the women get jobs and find their own housing.   We are providing decorated pumpkins to decorate their Fall shelter event and goodie bags for the women.

Live Event

At the park venue Rotarians and friends will be helping assemble Harvest theme gift bags that will have USB drives to keep resumes and job data and assorted goodies (granola bars, Halloween candy, etc.)  We are also providing mini-notebooks and pens to keep job leads and help keep notes.  On Page 1 of our mini-journals Rotarians and friends will be writing a personal note of inspiration from your heart meant to inspire these ladies not to give up hope, to stay strong and to push themselves to keep moving ahead with goals.   Volunteers will also be picking up mini pumpkins to take home and decorate any way they wish (no cutting of the pumpkin as they have to stay fresh for 2…
