Salvation Army Emergency Shelter Clean-up & Beautification

The Salvation Army operates the Emergency Shelter with funding from the City of Anaheim. Concentrating their funds on working with the residents of the shelter, the Salvation Army needs our help with weeding and some beautification. Our project will do the weeding necessary, and start the beautification at the entrance, where new residents are initially processed. 

Our primary focus on November 20, 2021 will be to do the weeding around the back of the property (see the photos below). Weeds are growing between the modular units and the fence. These weeds attract animals and make the upkeep of the fence difficult. The primary goal will be to clear the area. The Rotary Club of Anaheim is arranging for some professional help to come in prior to the November 20, 2021 event. They will do some of the weed whacking and maybe cut some of the branches leaning into the property. During the event, volunteers will clear out what has been cut and continue with any weed whacking and branch removal that remains.

Please note that all volunteers need to register. Any volunteers under the age of 18 need to be with a guardian and supervised at all times. We will have water, sodas and light snacks…
