Visible Homelessness is On The Rise
California is in the midst of a crisis: not only a homeless crisis, but a housing crisis. In September of 2015, The City of Los Angeles declared a "state of emergency" to address the city's homeless population, the largest in the United States.
The homeless population in Orange County has increased steadily over the past few years, between 8% and 15% since 2015. We must look for solutions that use our resources more effectively and efficiently. The solutions must be urgent and proportionate to the need. Providing the homeless with permanent supportive housing is the only solution proven to successfully end homelessness. This website will provide ways for you to become a stronger advocate for ending homelessness. It is a cause worthy of your participation.
