Reid Day School is a 501c3 non-profit private school program for children who are intellectually gifted but have a learning disability or other challenge(s) such as ADHD, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder or auditory processing disorder, which can impact their ability to progress effectively in a typical school environment. We are the only school in Orange County and one of a handful in the country that is equipped to support the needs of this unique group of students who are also known as “twice-exceptional.”
Our program offers a distinct, whole child, tailored approach that integrates an understanding of each student’s neuropsychological profile as well as their interests and social/emotional strengths and needs. Within our program, students who once struggled, and who were often misunderstood, discover the tools they need to become more self-aware, fulfilled, confident and independent as individuals and as young learners.
We work hard to keep our operating costs low, but in order to provide the best possible educational experience for our students and families, we need a highly experienced staff, small student:teacher ratios, assistive technology and a wide range of enrichments. Further, there is a need for adequate space for our growing population of students and we will need a larger school site in the near future.
We have had a strong first year, and this is why your help is needed and will provide us with the ability to make a greater difference in the lives of our students. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration and for helping to spread the word about our organization to your family and friends. Learn more about us at www.reidday.org.
