In 1972 Western Youth Services (WYS) originated as the Teenage Resource Center in Fullerton. WYS has been a leading provider of mental health and wellness solutions in Orange County ever since. Our history, expertise, relationships, collaborations, and impact on children, youth, and families, have laid the foundation for us to be a trusted and effective partner in supporting mental health and wellness across our community. We provide a full range of integrated mental health and wellness solutions and work collaboratively with community partners to do our part within the trauma-informed system of care. Collectively, we offer youth and families hope – through results, with a range of prevention, early intervention and, if needed, intensive care services provided in clinics, schools, and other community-based locations. Addressing emotional, mental and physical needs requires alignment across the community. By working together, we can increase our impact on youth, families and the entire community. The WYS team brings a deep understanding of the impact that Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and other life events have on mental health, combined with training on trauma-informed practices and an approach that meets individuals, schools, and communities where they are to provide customized services to build resilience for all. Our team delivers services with passion and dedication through programs and trainings that prevent, treat, and heal children and families and increase their ability to live full and productive lives. WYS professionals listen carefully to understand the root cause of the situation and then develop a customized treatment plan for each client. In addition to our services, trainings, and programs, we continue long-standing partnerships throughout Orange County with school districts, hospitals, other community-based organizations and more. Our goal is that youth of Orange County are emotionally equipped and empowered to be healthy and confident adults.
