On Saturday, July 20th, 2019, the Orange County Family Justice Center and KazArte Song and Dance will present “The Motown Experience,” featuring a dance performance to classic soul hits. The show draws performers from the Center’s Youth Dance Program, students from La Serna High in Whittier, California, and City of Anaheim staff.

Lisa Kazakos, director of the dance show, volunteers her time and energy to the program. She is the wife of retired Anaheim Police Lt. James Kazakos, a former director of the Center. The show allows a diverse group of children and students to come together to have fun and raise money for a good cause.

All the proceeds from the event will benefit the Orange County Family Justice Center Foundation’s youth violence prevention programs: “Kids Creating Change,” for preschool and early elementary aged children, and “Real Teens – Real Talk,” for youth aged 13 to 18. The programs focus on self-esteem, conflict resolution, life skills and healthy relationships. Many of the participants in the Motown show are enrolled in or have completed these programs.
