Medium - 30 inch butterfly
For dog lovers. Inspired by the unconditional love and loyalty from our canine family members. It was important when placing the design elements on the aluminum butterfly sculpture to purposely have it retain the essence of a butterfly. The vivid paw prints are intended to resemble butterfly eyespots. On the opposite side, the colorful whimsical dog faces follow the veins in the butterfly’s wings. And the two tails, yes, they have “lickers”. A few small paw print “spots” finish off the edges for a cohesive composition. Ultimately, Cheri wanted to create something fun and colorful to make viewers smile and laugh. Cheri Reckers lives in the Sonoran Desert and creates paintings, mosaics, sculptures and wearable art for museums, galleries and public and private spaces. Her award-winning work is frequently inspired by patterns, textures and colors found in nature and her surroundings. She likes to have fun with lively colors and repetitive shapes and create a bit of “sophisticated whimsy” in her art. Cheri graduated with honors from the Columbus College of Art and Design and has been featured in numerous publications and in a segment on FOX10 Phoenix “Made in Arizona”.
